Robinhoods Futures team builds and operates the experiences that let customers trade futures in a safe, transparent, and accessible way. They design the end-to-end flows for discovering, evaluating, and managing futures positions, partnering closely with risk and backend teams to ensure real-time accuracy and compliance in a highly regulated space.
As an Android Engineer on the Futures team, youll build and ship customer-facing features in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, focusing on smooth, intuitive workflows. Youll own well-scoped projects, fix bugs, and improve performance while pairing with senior engineers, product, and design to turn complex trading concepts into simple, high-quality in-app experiences.
This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you'll do:- Build, test, and ship Android features that improve user activation, engagement, and retention
- Partner with product managers and designers to define clear requirements and deliver user-focused solutions
- Write clean, maintainable Kotlin code and contribute to improving code quality and system reliability
- Analyze experiment results and user behavior data to guide feature improvements
- Identify and resolve performance issues to ensure a fast, stable mobile experience
- You bring 0-3 years experience building Android applications using Kotlin or Java
- You have experience building UI using Jetpack Compose or Views
- You have experience integrating APIs and handling real-time or near real-time data
- You write clear, maintainable, and well-tested code
- You are comfortable debugging performance issues and improving application reliability
- You communicate effectively with engineers, product managers, and designers

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$128,000 - $150,000 USD
Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)
$113,000 - $132,000 USD

$100,000 - $117,000 USD
